URUMQI, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- Shirzat Nulum is a 30-year-old horse trainer at the Akhal-Teke horses breeding and show base of the Yema Group. His job is to work with the horses in daily training and performances, and introduce the horse culture to visitors.
Shirzat came from Zhaosu County, which is known as "the hometown of heavenly horses." Ten years ago, Shirzat has made a major career choice to leave his hometown and become a horse trainer with Yema Group in Urumqi. Starting from the most basic tasks like grooming and feeding the horses, he honed his skills over the decade and gradually evolved into an outstanding horse trainer.
Today, his love for horses runs in the family. Shirzat's 5-year-old daughter, Shakira, showed a natural talent for horse riding almost as soon as she learned to walk. She is now the most beloved young rider at the horse base, with a dedicated "fan club" of her own.
This summer, the father-daughter duo returned to Zhaosu to take part in a horse parade and equestrian performances for the opening of an annual horse culture tourism festival. As they galloped across the field like an arrow, Shirzat held his daughter high in his arms, a scene that drew waves of gasps and cheers from the audience.
"I found my passion and love in horses, and I have chased this dream without a moment of hesitation," Shirzat said. From the grasslands of Zhaosu to the equestrian base in Urumqi, Shirzat spent ten years pursuing his passion with unremitting dedication, which eventually led him to a far broader stage.
